From my perspective, and in my opinion in-fightng and division in satanism exists because of a simple reason – because satanism, or the various groups and organizations within the genre of satanism is composed of PEOPLE.
People are like snow flakes, no two are alike, or at least that’s how it should be. Each person is unique, with their own ideas, opinions, convictions, insights, perspectives… all which are formed by a unique level of education, understandings, and ability to conprehend or extract meaning from abstract thought.
People also gravitate towards others that resonate with their own mentality. “Birds of a feather, flock together.” A skeptical atheist would rather associate with other skeptical atheists then a theistic-religionist, and vise versa.
This is because there is less tension or resistence, or less confrontation, and perhaps more validation of thoughts and beliefs when like minds associate together. A theistic-religionist who associates or ‘groups’ with a group of hardcore atheists would feel out of place, or not in a proper environment conducive to his/her belief structure and memeplex.
This in turn give rise to groups/associations/sects which developes a group mentality/identity that resonates with the individual people that conposes it. I.E., a group of cheerleaders will most likely have a chearleaderish quality; a group/sect of Mahayana Buddhists will have a Mahayana Buddhist quality distinct from say a group of Zen Buddhists… et cetera, et cetera.
Another quality of people; or more accurately – the human animal; is that people – boyz more so than girls – are competitive and territorial. By territory I mean both physical-land territory and psychological territory.
It doesn’t really matter if it’s a sect; group; tribe; religion; family; company; business; high school; sports team; nation; or group; it’s all got one basic fundamental common denominator – PEOPLE. Where there is people there is Human Nature, and these group associations and-or social orders are only a means thru which that human nature expresses itself.
Satanism is not any different. It’s composed of people. Each satanist gravitates to others of like mind and quality. Theists with other theists; atheists with other atheists. And through these groups/sects our primal human nature “bleeds” through and expresses itself. So we end up with rivalries, competition, chest beatings, pissing contests and whatever.
Some groups such as the Church of Satan becomes competitive for reasons other than human nature – business. An organization like the CoS wherein someof its members makes a living off of $200 membership fees, and book sales, can’t afford to endorse and be friendly with other groups of satanists… especially the free kind.
Other groups such as the ONA don’t want to get along with anybody because they have agendas to which the other groups would thwart or not understand due to cronic stupidity.
While other satanic groups choose hold onto their unique group identity because of their own historic reasons, or to maintain their unique group identity like the Temples of Set.
Humanity has always been divided. Even in a homogenous nation, there still exists division, compitition, and rivaly of some sort. It’s how nataure works to get the best genes up to the top of the pile.
Because humanity has always been divided, human religion or associations will also be divided. Satanism is no different. Infact most satanisms teaches its adherents to keep a strong sense of uniqueness and self identity.
People like Legs from the 8 strong Dark Church of Satan ( darkchurchofsatan.ning.com/ ) are very far removed from the real world and lack a basic understanding of Human Nature; as well as grade school level grammar. He needs to read Animal Farm or step away from his make believe pussy world and live in the real human world once in a while to gain a better perspective.
If it’s stupid for satanism to be divided, then human nature is stupid, because our primal nature is the source of that division.
Shit like a classless society where everyone was equal has already been experimented with. It’s called Communism, and it failed, devistating countries like Russia and stuff or something. (Russia still sucks ass to this day).
It’s easy to think pussy thoughts about getting along and loving each other; and its easy to talk pussy talk about getting along; but it’s imposible to undo millions of years of evolution to please the whims of a priest of some dark church. Would nature even take notice of such a person? Prolly not.
Satanism has been the way it is for 40 years since 1966; as all social orders have been the way they are, and no matter what we believe or how we talk, it isn’t going to change shit. It never has.
Some of us, like I myself, am proud to be human. I am proud to be competitive. I like to hate and disagree. I like being an individual to a certain extent, and I like associating with others that think, compete, and hate like me.
It’s the “Darwinian Struggle.” Weak people, and weak groups; like weak tribes, weak nations, are annihilated or eveltually are exploited into insignificance and extinction. Whining and crying doesn’t do shit.
What good has whining done for the native americans? Shit, they ain’t never getting their land or sovereignity back. Same goes for all vanquished peoples and nations. Same goes for all corporations, religions, and sects. They learn to live with it and eventually matriculate into the dominant regime.
While people like Legs from the Dark Church of Satan whines like a bitch about the divisions in satanism, ten… a hunderd other ambitious satanists start up their own unique, disctint satanic group. Each group with its own unique perspective and worldview. What Legs sees as stupid, some of us sees as the “Great Leap.”
There was a time during the Cambrian period of life whereafter singlecelled organisms had learned to form multicellular “communities” that an explotion of creativity happened. Things during this period of evolusion just went crazy. Species took every posible form and shape… there were arms races… and that life and ambitious evolutionary creativity heaved its way onto land.
It’s from this period of experimentation, creativity, and competition, that Nature eventually picked the best design to express Herself in. From all the millions of radical forms that came from the Cambrian explosion, only a handful became evolutions crown jewels – streamline bodies and fins for aquatic animals, four legs for most land animals, and a beautiful simple form for Humanity.
Anton LaVey perhaps can be seen as the initiator of a “Satanic Cambrian Explosion” which we are now witnessing in all its glory. All these groups and outer forms that have come and gone for the last 40 years. All maybe different externally, much like how each organism seems different in form; but beneath their is one life force. Beneath the many rival and competing forms of satanism, is a dark force struggling to evolve into the best form thru which it will be able to express its highest potential.
Take what we now know of as Christianity as a prime example and exemplar. Back during its primeval days their was no such thing as a single Christian religion. Just various different sects; each with a different belief. Then their was Gnostic Explosion of sorts; and somewhere in the explosion came an anally retentive literalist group. After a darwinian struggle cut-throat competition, much bloodshed and slaughter, this anal group became the only form of Christianity – the Catholic Church. It wasn’t the “original” Christianity, but the winner of the game. And only after all competition was annihilated was it able to set it’s creative (or destructive) force on forging itself a civilization – the European Dark Ages.
What we know of as “Satanism” is right now in its “Cambrian Explosion” stage. In the end only one will win this cut-throat competition, to one day give birth to its own civilization…
