It looks like David Myatt and Anton Long are actually two different people and not the same person? I’ve always thought they were two personalities of one individual: A sinister one and a professor – or maybe like Pinky and the Brain: One is a genius, the other sinisterly insane? Trying to figure out, or go into depth of this matter was never important to me really. What I saw [value in] were the writings, insights, ideas, and methods written which influenced me, and changed the way I see things. The person such thought-things come from to me personally, never mattered. But I suppose it’s fun once in awhile to speculate.
Me and Kayla came way after David Myatt’s activities during the 70′s and 80′s. When we “came into the scene” David Myatt to us was the authour of such things as the Numinous Way stuff, the Reichsfolk stuff, and even the ONA stuff; which were very enlightening. So in our minds, we thought [or conceived] Myatt to actually be the genius professor; and Anton Long must have been his alter ego which was the thug character. I guess it’s the whole opposite.
There were those times when we did speculate about Myatt and Long just for fun. Certain things didn’t feel fluid at times. Like when you look at Reichsfolk and the Numinous Way you can see the relationship between the two [the concepts they share] exhibits a fluidity, as if it flowed out of the same mind. It’s like looking at a dinosaur and an iguana and saying: Ok, these two things are genetically related. Then inside the Numinous Way itself, and sometimes in Reichsfolk, you can also see the progression and evolution of the author’s mind over the years. Which caused us to believe that Myatt was a man on a private and personal journey of self discovery and self enlightenment.
But then you have the Satanic ONA. It’s like putting a turkey next to the dinosaur and iguana and saying they genetic relatives. Your left to scratch your head and ask: Ok, what happened, how or why did those turn into this? Based on the Myatt = Long theory [which we believed], it seemed as though along Myatt’s non-religious spiritual journey of self enlightenment, he occasionally side tracked and wrote strange Satanic writings which didn’t feel as though it had anything to do with his private journey. Because of this there was always that lack of fluidity between the ONA, and Myatt’s Reichsfolk and Numinous Way.
Another thing we found strange is within the ONA thing itself, it appeared as those the author of it himself was also evolving psychologically and intellectually. We saw this from comparing more primitive [early] works of the ONA such as the Black Book of Satan and Naos – with the hundreds of manuscripts in which the information contained in it progressed and evolved in it’s own way over time. Which would suggest that the mind it came from was evolving a little differently than the mind from which Reichsfolk and the Numinous Way came out of. But we still stayed true to our One Man, One Mind theory.
Then Kayla noticed more weird things. She’s good at studying people’s writing styles, the words they use over and over again, their punctuation, or lack thereof and stuff. She noticed that when Myatt was writing as Long, Long would used the word “Thus,” more often then would Myatt. In those short; perhaps quickly written essays by Long; Kayla also noticed that Long also used the word “And” often, in places that wouldn’t require the word; which Myatt didn’t do to often. Also in those short essays, Long had a habit of not ending his sentences at the write places, which made the sentences very long; which is something Myatt [or as Myatt] he was careful not to do. Now I’m not saying Long isn’t as good at writing as Myatt. 90% of Long’s ONA manuscripts are very well written. It’s just those occasional short essays that showed this.
The word “Thus” isn’t used to often in everyday American common speech and common writings. I see the word so often in Long’s writings, that I will us it too; and I know Kayla does also. The significant thing which Kayla pointed out about the word “Thus” [in Long's case] is its what she describes as a “unconscious mathematical habit.” She means that only a deep thinking analytical mind which adds up free floating concepts and ideas that were not conjoined together before, would use the word “thus” that often, because “thus” implies a “sum factor.” For example: Heat and water makes steam which has force, THUS applying the force of steam to turn a turbine will create electricity. The word “thus” in that statement implies that the notion of using steam to turn a turbine came about after analytically thinking about heat, water, steam, and force; amongst other things. “Thus” suggests a mind which is trained to think, analyze, conceive, take apart, reconstruct ideas into something new. Anton Long using that word as often as he does, would suggest that his mind has a refined thinking process which is trained to take old ideas or concepts, and break them down, and innovate new concepts out of them. Which is important. Such mental activity is the hallmark of a working brain, acute intelligence, creativity, and a capacity for creating original thoughts and ideas.
So for the longest time in our mind Myatt was a professor who taught at a college. We figured this mostly because he had a beard and that cap, and he dressed like one. Plus there were the stories in the Deofels which in the beginning took place in a college setting, or college related things were important factors in the story. Which lead us to think that the mind that wrote the story had a thing for colleges. Then there was also the time when [as Long] he wrote of a time when he was a teacher and he saw the essence of Baphomet in a young student of his, and fell in love. From all that our “Myatt,” in our minds was a college professor – that’s why he writes those great things.
But then we started to hear rumors from people in the ONA we met that Myatt was a crazy criminal who was the leader of a Nazi group that tried to give birth to some Racial Holy War?! That’s when we thought to ourselves: Meh, what happened to our professor; how can you be a professor at a college in England AND be a anti-social Nazi leader criminal person? Don’t they do background check?
So we came up with the theory that maybe Myatt is a little eccentric, as many Englishmen are, and he has a strange proclivity for causing trouble in society. So he invented an alter ego called Anton Long, which was a Satanist and he dresses up as a different person sometimes and caused trouble as Anton Long? It turns out that Anton Long is the professor and influencer, and Myatt is the influenced.
Myatt does have a way of taking Long’s concepts, and evolving them into a living science with detail. Which is something Long doesn’t do to often. It seems as though Long writes assuming that his reader understand such concepts as acausal and stuff, because he’ll briefly mention them, and then go into detail about practical methods. As a physics professor would quickly recap a theory to his students then quickly change the subject to the experiment in which he spends a lot of time giving detail to.
I would say that the two [Myatt & Long] compliment each other. They work off of each other, and approach the same essential concepts from different angles. Which in turn adds to the over all essence. And I hope they continue to be friends and work in this way to further evolve and develop the three brain chrildren they have made.
In the end though, what really matters – or the most important person in this equation is: You. Not Myatt or Long. It’s one thing to be influenced by these men and appreciate these men for their minds. It’s another thing to just stand there admiring, not taking what has been given and evolving it and evolving from it. As Myatt was inspired by Long’s concepts, and rather than inertly stand their and admire his friend, he duplicated Long’s mind by evolving and adding life to such ideas.
How far would Reichsfolk Culture, the Numinous Way, and the ONA go, if we all duplicated the efforts of Myatt and Long? If you took what has been given to you into your own hands and mind, and add your own genius to it? You are the future of these three institutions. It will be through you that Reichsfolk, the Numinous Way, and the ONA passes onto the next generation and into the future. It is you, and your own personal needs, and private journey in life that must alter and change this Triad which will keep it relevant for a future generation.
I don’t care what they say about Myatt. He’s still a genius to me; and in my mind, will always remain a professor. But at least now we know, that the reclusive Anton Long is the source of that Promethean spark of genius – and the genuine professor. Now if only we could figure out which of the two is the genius, and which is insane 
It’s like Pinky and the Brain again. You would assume that the Brain is the genius, but he’s clearly insane trying to take over the world and all.
If Myatt and Long are two different people, then boy, the two of them sure aren’t very creative, because they use each others concepts over and over again. Or at least one of them is a big time copy cat or lacks his own mind. Kind of makes you think – especially if you have read most of both their work. But like I said, You are all that matters. This topic of who Myatt and or Long is serves only as a misdirecting distraction from self progression – your personal quest of inner evolution – your private journey to self enlightenment. It’s fun to speculate, but lets get back on the hiking trail, keeping in mind that YOU are the Central Character of the ONA; the Numionous Way; and Reichsfolk Culture.
